Dallin Digest Newsletter
From the Principal: News and Events
5/16/2025 7:15 am
Hello Dallin Families,
I'm amazed that we're already heading into the final stretch of our school year! This is always such a great time to be at Dallin. The next few weeks are full of joyful events and meaningful traditions, and I hope you'll be able to join us in the celebrations. Two of our biggest highlights are just around the corner: The Dallin Katherine Wall Field Day Celebration – Wednesday, May 21st, and Dallin's Performing Arts Music Performance – Friday, June 6th.
These are special moments for our students and our community, and we truly hope our families can join. There are also lots of enriching field trips planned across the grades. Thank you for the continued support of our PTO and make sure to look for communications from your teachers. A few friendly reminders and requests as we enter this busy time of year:
- We've noticed a recent increase in late arrivals. Please help us—and Mrs. Burns, who has been working hard to support students arriving late—by ensuring your child arrives before 7:55 AM. Students are marked late after 8:00 AM.
- For the safety and comfort of our students (and it's the law), dogs are not permitted on the blacktop or grassy areas around the school. If you're walking your furry friend during drop-off or pick-up, please keep them leashed on Florence Field. Thank you for helping us with this!
- Included in this newsletter is our Family Class Placement Survey—your chance to share input as we begin preparing for the 2025–2026 school year.
We’re grateful for your continued partnership. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or me with any questions or ways we can support a strong and successful end to the year.
Be well,
Thad

Dallin families,
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you for making Teacher Appreciation Week truly magical! From the Munchkinland Breakfast to the POPcorn Bar, from Glenda’s Goodies to Pressed Cafe lunches and the beautiful “Over the Rainbow” flower bar—every thoughtful touch brought joy and made our staff feel celebrated.
Your creativity, generosity, and support mean so much to us. Our teachers and staff felt appreciated, well fed, and deeply grateful to be part of such a caring and vibrant school community. Thank you for casting such a warm and wonderful spell over Dallin!
—With gratitude,
The Dallin Team
Family Class Placement Survey for 2025-2026
5/16/2025 7:13 am
In the coming weeks, the Dallin school staff will begin to develop new classes for the next school year, 2025-2026. As part of that process, our staff believes that families can provide valuable information regarding the best learning environment for their child. To form classes, teachers carefully consider a number of factors including academics and behavior, learning styles, special needs, and compatibility with other students.
The information families share will be used by classroom teachers, specialist teachers, social workers, and the principal to best create the most appropriate educational setting for your child.
You’re Invited: Kindergarten Family Listening Session – Friday 5/23 at 8:15 AM
5/16/2025 7:12 am
Dear Kindergarten Families,
As we near the end of a joyful and memorable year with your children, we’d love to invite you to a special informal gathering next Friday at 8:15 AM in the Dallin cafeteria.
This will be a chance for us to think about:
- What information do you wish you had known when your family first joined Dallin?
- Are there particular topics, tools, or resources that would’ve made your first days easier or smoother?
- How can we reimagine our orientation to reflect the real experiences of families, while still meeting our goals as a school?
The conversation will last about 45 minutes and include members of our school staff, administration, school social worker, School Council parent and teacher representatives.
If you aren’t able to attend, we will share a brief Google form afterward so you can still contribute your thoughts.
We’re grateful for your partnership this year and hope you’ll join us!
