5th Annual Bridging Two Communities Families Walk, Sunday, April 12

The Arlington METCO Program invites district families, community members, and friends to join us for the 5th Annual Bridging Two Communities Families Walk on Sunday, April 12 from 1:00–3:00 PM at Franklin Park in Boston.
This special community event celebrates the impact of the METCO program and its mission of building bridges across communities since 1966. In partnership with Guineafowl Adventure Company, Arlington METCO students and staff will help lead a scenic walk through Franklin Park as we gather to strengthen friendships, connect with one another, and celebrate the success of our students and families.
All are welcome! Water, soft drinks, and snacks will be provided.
Location: Franklin Park, 1 Franklin Park Rd, Boston, MA

Time: 1:00–3:00 PM

Spring into Reading with Reading Buddies!
When: Wednesday, April 1st. 4:00 - 6:30 PM
AHS Multicultural Night
AHS Affinity Clubs will be hosting a town-wide Multicultural Night on April 9th that aims to bring students and families together through shared cultural celebration! This event is open to all community members.
Multicultural Night will feature interactive booths led by student affinity groups and local organizations highlighting some cultural projects and initiatives they’ve led throughout the community. Local Arlington restaurants will have food available for purchase. Throughout the evening, guests can explore the various stations and enjoy live performances featuring dance, music, art, and guest speakers!

All 5th graders from Bishop, Brackett, Dallin, Hardy, Peirce, Stratton, and Thompson are invited. Sponsored by Arlington Orthodontics.
Several Items:
* Date/time/location: Thursday, April 9th from 4pm – 6pm @ Ed Burns Arena
* Admission to the event is $5 CASH. Goes directly to the school’s 5th Grade Fund.
This money is typically used for 5th grade end of the year activities, yearbooks, class gift, etc.
* Helmets will be required while skating (please bring helmet from home)
* Skate rentals are limited! ***Bring your own skates if possible!***
* Each child needs to bring a waiver (signed by parent/guardian) for entry.
* Students who don't skate are welcome and encouraged to come hang out anyway!
There will be a Photobooth, music, friends, pizza, etc. The snack bar will also be open.

Arlington Heights Spring Window Painting 2026

Arlington residents are invited to participate in the Fifth Annual Arlington Heights Spring Window Painting Event, which will take place on Saturday, May 2, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Paint a window by yourself or grab your friends or family and paint a window together in one of 60+ designated storefront windows in 25 Heights businesses.
Designs must have a spring theme - flowers, trees, birds, insects, etc. We also invite community painters to go beyond painting the beauty of spring blooms by including simple messages and/or steps that people can take to protect our environment and promote eco-diversity in their yards and town wide.
Online Registration Deadline: Saturday, April 18, 2026

Space is guaranteed to the first 60 entries. Registration site closes when all slots are filled. A week after the registration closing date, painters will be emailed their window assignment, a rules and information flyer, and a list of window painting supplies and tips. A $25 registration fee covers paint supplies purchased locally (an assortment of paint brushes and acrylic paints in a pre-selected color palette, which will be available to painters on the day of the event).
Eligibility: All residents and any individuals who attend a school in Arlington are eligible for this event. Painters under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The paintings will remain on display through mid-June. These public events are organized by the Arlington Heights Community Association (AHCA) in partnership with the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.

The annual town election is on Saturday March 28; the outcomes of several races and and a major ballot question will directly affect the schools. Some town races can be determined by as few as dozens of votes; in town elections, your individual vote counts.
