4th Grade Science Friday: Catapult Engineering Challenge
6/6/2025 7:06 am
On May 16, the 4th Graders enjoyed their Science Friday activity. The event was conducted by the Dallin STEAM Team with the help of additional parent volunteers. The activity was a Catapult Engineering Challenge. The students teamed up and used household materials (cardboard, cups, rubber bands, pencils) to design and build catapults to launch a foil ball. Then the kids tested their designs with various challenges involving distance, precision, and strength. We think the event was 'on target' and the kids had a lot of fun.
Thanks to the parent volunteers for planning, preparing and leading the activities: Rina Zelmann, Kristin Pennarun, and Dennis Mark. Appreciation to the additional parent volunteers for helping setup, facilitate, and clean-up this enriching activity: Joe DiClemente, Jen Gilbert, Jaclyn Kaster, and Badr Tejado. And thanks to the 4th grade teachers for helping to coordinate and ensure success.
