436 Library books need to come back!

6/12/2026 5:58 am

As the Dallin Library prepares for summer library collection upkeep, we need 436 books to be returned ASAP! Most of these titles are high interest and high circulation titles, so our students will definitely feel their absence next school year if they don't make their way back to the library.
Students have been working hard to return books but may benefit from a little bit of support at home. We distributed "Yellow Letters" aka Overdue Book Notices this week in hopes that students will know which titles they should search for and return to our library.
As a reminder, we do not charge overdue fines or replacement costs. Please email me to let me know if you know a book has been lost and we will update your child's library record.

Thank you,
Melissa Maldonado

From Mr. Daily: Thank You and Farewell Dallin Families

6/12/2026 5:57 am

Dear Dallin School Community,

I want to share with you the bittersweet update that I will not be returning to teach Physical Education at Dallin next fall because I have accepted an Assistant Principal position at the Center School in Stow, an elementary school in the Nashoba Regional School District. School leadership has always been a career aspiration of mine and I am very excited to take this next step in my life. This role puts me closer to home and my little boys Rhys (4.5) and Rowan (2). I’ve reached this professional goal in large part because of this exceptional school community. I am deeply grateful for your students and the joy they give me everyday to be their teacher. Dallin is a remarkable school and it has been a privilege to get to know your children.

I wish you all a fun, active, and safe summer.

Cheers,

Rye Daily

My Amazing Summer Challenge

6/12/2026 5:50 am

What is the My Amazing Summer Challenge?

A national program where students in grades 4-6 (ages 9-12) have a fun and adventurous summer offline—and schools can get rewarded for participating. Cartwheel, inspired by The Amazing Generation, is bringing this challenge to students across the country to encourage them to have a fun and adventurous summer offline. Students read the book on their own over the summer, try something inspired by it, and share a short reflection in the fall. Every student who participates will get a certificate of recognition. Five standout student submissions will receive a $100 bookshop.org gift card and five select districts will receive up to $1,000 in funding for their school library.

That said, entering the drawing is not required! This is an opportunity to engage in the book and the suggested screen-free activities regardless of whether or not a student chooses to share their reflections.

There's more info here in the full challenge guide, for students and families is here. And here is a letter to caregivers that also contains much more info about how it works!

Another Great KW Dallin Field Day 2026

6/5/2026 5:48 am

On behalf of the Dallin Physical Education team, we would like to give a huge thank you to our students, staff, PTO, and family volunteers for another successful and joyful KW Dallin Field Day! This year’s event was Wednesday, June 3rd. The weather was magnificent and the smiles on our students' faces were equally bright.

This year we rolled out some new games along with classic activities. Students this year played new games like Capture the Stuff, Wacky Waiter Relay, and Dallin Field Run. Classic games were also enjoyed like Sponge Relay, Parachute, and Limbo.

The 5th grade class yet again rocked leading games for the K-2 session. The day was also celebrated with the whole school watching the tradition of 5th grade Tug of War, a whole school picnic lunch, and the much beloved popsicle at the end of the school day.

We hope this day kicks off a strong finish to this amazing school year and excites our students to stay active throughout their summer break!

Thank you again,

Rye (Mr. Daily) and Jeannette (Ms. C)

Lost and Found Reminder

6/5/2026 5:44 am

As the school year wraps up (only 3 more weeks), please be diligent in having your kids peruse the Lost and Found and pop in yourself as well. See pictures below, which include the aftermath of items left behind after field day.
If you have some extra hangers, I could definitely use them. Please leave them on the rack :)
Pictures as of Wednesday afternoon.
Thanks!

Arlington EATS summer signups open

6/5/2026 5:42 am

Summer vacation is right around the corner and sign ups for the Arlington EATS Summer Vacation Lunch Program are now open!  Arlington EATS is happy to once again be providing lunch support for 7 weeks of the summer while school is out. I am hoping you could share information about the program with your families - I've attached flyers in English, Spanish, and Chinese that you can share, as well as more information below:

Lunch support from Arlington EATS will be available to any family with children in Arlington schools who would like extra help with food over summer vacation. For 7 weeks this summer, beginning Thursday, June 25 and running until Friday August 7, families are invited to shop at our market for free for nutritious and easy to prepare kid friendly foods. We will have sign ups for each week of the program; families will be able to select the weeks they would like to participate and if they would like to shop on Thursday or Friday.

Use this form to sign up for the program at Arlington EATS Market, 117 Broadway, on Thursdays,  from 4:00 - 6:30 pm or Fridays, from 9am to 11am. Appointment time slots will open on our scheduling website (PantrySoft) one week ahead of each week, and you will get a reminder email or phone call to sign up for a timeslot that day. If you have not been to the EATS Market and do not have a PantrySoft account already, we will send you instructions on how to make an account and sign up for a slot. If you are a regular EATS Market shopper, you can shop at the market in addition to the vacation lunch shopping time that week.

Note: if you already have a regular shopping time at EATS, you may shop during the vacation lunch times as well while your kids are not in school.

If you have any questions, please contact Shalini at ssreedhar@arlingtoneats.org or 339-707-6757!
