The Arlington Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce a collaborative initiative with the Town of Arlington to plant 10,000 daffodil bulbs along the historic Battle of Menotomy reenactment route. This ambitious project is part of the town’s 250th-anniversary commemorations, scheduled for April 2025, which will celebrate Arlington’s crucial role in the Revolutionary War. The annual return of the bright and cheerful daffodils will not only mark this historic occasion but also serve as a beautiful and lasting tribute for the community to enjoy for years to come.
In preparation for the event, the Chamber will distribute daffodil bulbs to individuals and local groups in October for planting in pre-selected locations along the reenactment route and throughout the town’s business districts. Key planting sites have been identified, and the Chamber is encouraging wide community participation. Residents, businesses, civic organizations, sports leagues, scout troops, school groups, and others are invited to get involved and lend a hand in bringing this vision to life.
“This is a large-scale endeavor, and we are calling on the entire community to join us in making it a success. The more hands we have, the more beautiful Arlington will be next spring,” said Beth Locke, Executive Director of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. “We’re excited to see so many diverse groups come together for a shared goal that will leave a lasting legacy for our town.”
This initiative represents an opportunity for residents to not only celebrate Arlington's storied past but also contribute to its future by beautifying the town and strengthening community bonds. As part of the larger 250th anniversary celebrations, the daffodils will enhance the historic reenactment event while serving as a vibrant reminder of the town’s unique heritage.
