Arlington Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration Featuring BOMBAntillana
Join us for a town wide celebration of Indigenous Peoples! This fun and educational event will feature a performance by the Boston-based collective BOMBAntillana. Experience one of the oldest living musical traditions of Borikén (Puerto Rico). Bomba evolved as a powerful form of expression and resistance by Indigenous Taino and West African peoples during Spanish rule and beyond.
This event will take place at First Parish of Arlington Unitarian Universalist, 630 Mass. Ave. in Arlington. Free and family friendly! Reservations are not required. For more info, contact hleavell@dallin.org.
Sponsored by the Cyrus Dallin Art Museum, First Parish Arlington Indigenous Justice Working Group, Arlington Center for the Arts, Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture, Arlington Historical Society, Arlington Human Rights Commission, Old Schwamb Mill, and Robbins Library.
