Arlington has been lucky enough to be a part of the METCO program since its inception in the 1960s. The country’s oldest voluntary desegregation program brings educational and cultural opportunities to both Arlington and Boston students (including at Dallin!)

Right now we need your help to support the continued success of the program in Arlington. Here’s how to get involved:

Sunday, April 12: Bridging Two Communities Walk. A wonderful opportunity for Arlington and Boston families to meet and enjoy each others’ company in the outdoors. Many of us live far from each other and this is a great way to connect in an informal setting. Click here to sign up!

Monday, April 13: METCO Advocacy day at the State House. The most impactful way to help the Arlington METCO program right now is to show up at Advocacy Day at the State House to demonstrate our support for the program and the need for continued funding at the state level. Without this funding, the program would require major cuts in staff and programming. We would really love a large turnout from the Arlington community to show our support. Ongoing: We can always use more donations, either in the form of money (Venmo or check), or in physical items donated. The funds go directly to supporting Boston students by providing snacks, activities and funds to allow them to participate in Arlington community activities.
