News from the Garden!

Last Friday, the Dallin PTO Garden Club teamed up with our first graders to create a beautiful new native bird habitat on a perfect spring day! Students learned about native birds found in Massachusetts, the habitats they need to survive, and how plants can provide food, shelter, and nesting spaces.
Together, students and volunteers planted 12 native plants and wildflowers that will help support local birds and pollinators for years to come. A huge thank you to the more than 15 parent volunteers who joined us and helped make the project such a success!
Be sure to keep an eye on the garden space as the plants begin to grow this spring. We’re also excited to add birdhouses created by our 4th and 5th graders in the coming weeks. This project beautifully connects to the 1st grade EL curriculum, where students are learning all about birds and their habitats.
